Nutrition Coaching in Cambridge, MA
You can have the best training program in the world, but if your nutrition is all over the place, you're probably leaving some progress on the table.
That's why we've partnered with Boston-based registered dietitian Colleen Duddy. She helps our members figure out how to eat in a way that supports their training without making food their entire personality.
You're Training Hard. Are You Eating to Support It?
We talk a lot about training here at Dirty Water Fitness (kind of comes with the territory), but your time outside the gym has a big influence on your results.
For example, if you're trying to get stronger, your body needs enough protein and overall calories to recover between sessions. If you're running out of energy halfway through your workouts or if your goal is change your body composition, it’s worth looking at what you're eating throughout the day.
The tricky part is figuring out what makes sense for you. You could spend hours trying to figure all of this out yourself, or you could talk to someone who went to school for it.
Meet Colleen Duddy, Registered Dietitian
Colleen is a Boston-based registered dietitian and marathon runner who works with active people on their nutrition. She's particularly interested in helping people who have spent years bouncing between restrictive diets and trying to eat "perfectly."
We like her approach because she's realistic about food. She understands that people have jobs and social lives. She helps our members figure out how to fuel for exercise and recover properly as well as develop eating habits they can stick with.
She also helps people who've gotten so caught up in calorie tracking or food rules that eating has become stressful.
Colleen sees clients virtually, so you can work with her from the comfort of your home!

FAQ
-
Nope! Colleen runs her own nutrition counseling practice and works with clients independently of DWF. We recommend her to our members because we think she's a great resource, but anyone can reach out to her.
-
Not at all. Maybe you're trying to gain muscle, get more energy for your workouts, or figure out how to eat enough to support your training. You might also want help getting away from restrictive dieting or feeling less stressed about food. There are plenty of reasons to see a dietitian that have nothing to do with the number on the scale.
-
Registered dietitians have to complete 7+ years of specific education and supervised training requirements, pass a national exam, and maintain their credentials. The term "nutrition coach" doesn't have the same standardized requirements. If you're looking for someone with formal training in nutrition science, working with a registered dietitian like Colleen is a good choice.
-
It might! Colleen works with several insurance plans, but coverage depends on your individual policy. You'll want to check with her about which plans she currently accepts and what your insurance covers before booking a paid appointment.
-
It can. Eating enough calories and protein helps your body recover after workouts and supports muscle growth. If you've been training consistently but aren't seeing the progress you expected, it’s a good idea to look at your nutrition. Colleen can help you figure out if there are any changes you can make that might boost your progress.
